I have been running my Marklin digital AC layout with an IB and RR&Co. (ver. 5.8) on a laptop PC for some time now. I encounter sporadic "reboots" of the IB in the middle of a session, for no apparent reason?? This is cumbersome because all memory of train status is temporarily lost! I vaguely remember changing some parameters on the PC, such as Baud Rate and Parity bit settings (??) that seemed to have alleviated this problem a while back. I recently had to replace my older laptop computer, and am wondering if I again need to tune the new laptop with these parameter changes. Has anyone else had this problem? Does anyone know what to do for a fix? My IB is an early model (2004?) with ver. 1.5 firmware. Thanks in advance.

Hi, Jeff,

Maybe this helps (German only):
http://www.ralf-bueker.d...etproblem_Intellibox.htm

The tip is using "nur Märklin" in the System menu where you specify the instruction set of the 6050/1 part of the Intellibox.

You can update to version 1.55 free of charge or buy version 2.0 (maybe you can even install version 2.0 for free).

See this PDF for more tips:
http://www.ollismodellba...mages/zip/Intellibox.pdf

Look at the screen shots on pages 1 and 2 and the Sonderoptionen (IB special options) under "3. Problem".
Regards
Tom

Thanks for the input, guys. I have tried changing some of the SO's per your references. So far, so good! Can I update my intellibox directly to ver. 1.55, say? Can you include a link to the site, if possible? Thanks again.

The German page with the 1.55 update:
https://www.uhlenbrock.d...oftware/IF25DA98-001.htm!ArcEntryInfo=0007.12.IF25DA98&NewServerName=GAMMA

Create a bootable diskette or a CD to install the update.
