Hi,
I'm currently doing an inventory of a model train collection (Marklin HO). I have them all neatly entered in excell, and now want to add prices. Since it concerns quite a few items, I was hoping to be able to do this digitally. Is there a digital version of the koll catalogue available?
Thanks!

I'm pretty sure there was a scanned Koll catalog floating around somewhere. I have a physical copy of one and just use that so I didn't save the scanned version. I'm certain someone on this forum will be able to help you. Best regards, Paul PS. A little promotion of a tool I created . If you go to the website toymetric.com you can catalog and inventory any toy collection: enter in all the details of the trains with photos, descriptions, model numbers, etc. and then add the Koll book values in for each item and they will be automatically converted to your currency and added up to get your total collection value. All of this data is then stored online forever and you'll never lose it! I built this tool because I had problems with Excel and realized it has its limits so I built a custom solution. If you do try it out, please let me know what you think! |

Dear Sir,
Koll's is a business, and you cannot expect free information. This reputation is based on speculation models. Graphs of rising prices were still on the old editions. The speculation is over and sales over 5000 Euros belong to the past. Based on these prices are thenself questionable, because it is made from specialized auctions which contains the elite collectors, for items mint in boxes. It is certain that rare items can mount and standard parts neglected. I do not know the commissions charged in Germany, but in France it is 25% to add for the buyer and 14% less for the seller. I think the prices on online auctions sites are more significant. Do not take too much adds as a fixed price, usually 20/30% above the market price, and we never know if the sales were made. Only the stakes are significant. By following some references, it is possible to find large differences from one sale to another On these sites you can find references Märklin country-specific, not listed by Mr. Koll.
There are differences from one country to another. I have various examples :
· French BB 9291 red “Capitole” #3059 was about FF 900 (10 years ago) but about FF 2700 in Germany. Since the rerun, prices crushed
· It’s possible to find some items of the 50’s in USA from soldiers, stayed in Germany, at reasonable prices.
The lowest solution is to OCR the book, and to keep it for you.
Had a nice day.
Regards
J.F.
