Hi

I'm not really very knowledgeable when it comes to Ipads or Androids, etc.,

Could any one confirm if the Märklin application to control CS2 on Iphone or Ipad would also work on a Samsung Galaxy Note Tablet?

Thanks in adavance and best regards,
Best regards,
Armando García

Hi Armando,

The Märklin iOS apps will only run on an iPod/iPhone/iPad and are not Android compatible. I'd imagine there are probably third party alternatives though... I'll have a look.

There were some unconfirmed rumours that Marklin might be releasing their mobile apps for Android next year. We will have to wait and see whether that happens.

The iPad apps are already available. Search the iTunes store for Marklin.

They should work fine.

Apple said that the mini will work with all existing apps, the screen resolution is the same as my iPad 2.
It will work on the 4th Generation iPad but I'm not sure if its optimized to take advantage of the retina display on the 3rd and 4th Gen. products.

Hi all dearest m-users,

Does anybody know if there is an offical announcement for the Android version of the CSII remote App?
This would give me a "reason" to upgrade from my faithfull CSI to CSII and use it with my Samsung Galaxy.
Untill that day, I just wear my old hardware out ;-)

Greetings GJ

There is no announcment as yet for the Android. I'll ask when I see Markin at the Toy Fair in Nurnberg at the end of January.

Hi Armando,

I have a Samsung 8.9 table working with Märklin CS2, but in between I have a laptop running the Rocrail application. The tablet itself is running the andRoc, which is the "Rocrail" application developed for the Android OS.

Essentially the steps are the following:

Install the Rocrail in the laptop, configure it with the layout as it is in CS2.
Connect the CS2 to the the laptop (via network cable), which will work as a server of a small network.
Install the andRoc in the tablet and connect the tablet to the laptop (via WIFI).
The laptop (together with Rocrail) will manage the communications between the tablet and CS2.

It might seem a bit complex (at least for me it was at the beggining), but it's worthwhile.

You can find more info about RocRail here:

http://wiki.rocrail.net/doku.php

and about andRoc, here:

http://wiki.rocrail.net/...c-intro-en&DokuWiki=

However, please be aware that although the Rocrail is freeware, the andRoc is not. You need to be a contributor, but it is not a fortune, less than a small Märklin goods car...

Please let me know if you need more info.

Kind regards,

António
