I understand the geometry of Marklin straight track, however, if I try to perform a loop or a diagnal crossover, I cannot figure out the proper tracks to use. Although I have RR-Track layout software, I find it difficult. (I use trial and error to tie the ends together).Can someone explain to me the total geometry of Marklin C-track.

I am not sure what you are trying to do, however, I can give you a couple of hints, hoping that it might be helpful.

The standard C-track curve (R1 24130) has a 360mm radius with a 76cm external diameter. If you want to create a parallel curve to the 24130 then you have to use tracks R2/24230. This second parallel curve has a radius of 437.5mm and an external diameter of 91.5cm. The 24130 and the 24230 are the most popular curved tracks and you can also find 15° sections of them (2 x 24115 = 1 x 24130 and 2 x 24215 = 1 x 24230!! Now if you want more parallel curves then you can go with the 515mm radius (R3 24330), the 579.3mm radius (R4 24430) and the 643.6 radius (R5 24530).
What else...
If you have a three way turnout (MAR24630) or a single turnout you can turn all tracks parallel with the use of 24224, one for each curve. For large radius curves the corresponding track is 24912.
Also, if you are planning to use 24671/2 curved turnouts and you are installing, let's say an inner R1 and an outer R2 you have to use 24130 to join the 2 different curves.
What you can also use to aid your task is the MAR02415 Track planning stencil and the MAR02409 Magnetic track planning kit.
I don't know if I was helpful or not! If you could provide us a track plan idea I might be more useful.

The standard turnouts are based on the R2 circle. If you add a small 24206 to the end of the curved track, you get a 30 degrees angle. That means 1 meter track length gives you 50 cm movement sideways. So if your layout is 72 cm wide, you need a diagonal track of 144 cm length.
