The Roco #64750 sleeping coach was released in 2010. The prototype is WLABsm 166 (T2S), built in 1975, and was painted in DB Trans Euro Nacht (TEN) red livery.
This Roco model is exactly 1:87 scale, 303 mm length, and very well detailed. Exterior, under chassis, and interior, all very well detailed. In my opinion, only T2S coach offered by LS Models can rival the details.
The only unfavourable comment I would say is; the beds are all in white plastic, causing it to looks thicker than it should be. Unlike some of older Roco sleeping coaches where the beds were in two colors, giving a thinner looks as in the prototype.

Under the chassis, all equipment blocks are there although pipes and other details which can not be moulded in single axis were omitted.

The toilets are correctly replicated (there are two toilets on each coach), even the toilet bowl and sink are there,
although it can not be seen from outside due to painted windows.
The staff compartment is also replicated correctly (located opposite the toilets)

Attention was given by Roco into small details at the interior; the seats have proper seam instead of just flat.
And the compartment's door was painted silver on the edges and the handles too.

Thanks for the review!

I've got the LS Models T2s myself. Exterior of the Roco looks good! I think the LS Models version has better interior and undercarriage. The beds ave multicolorred blankets Cool . But the pricing of the Roco is way better. i saw one for 35 euro!

I'll try to take a picture of the interior this evening.

There are also the ACME, Heris and Maerklin models of this type of coach. I would have to say that I would probably rank them as follows:

(All 1/87 unless noted)
LS Models
ACME
Roco
Heris
Maerklin (1/100)

In terms of fine detailing, the LSM coaches have the highest level of detail, both interior and exterior
The ACME models follow closely, behind, but have a few design deficiencies. The Roco models are nice, but also have a few design deficiencies. I would go as far to say as it is almost a tie between the ACME and Roco models.

I am waiting for the latest LSM models in SBB livery, and I will add at least one of those models to my collection of Roco, Heris and ACME models.
I agree with Rinus that the price of the Roco clearance is nice, but I was disappointed to find out that this only included certain models, as there is no discount on the modern Trenitalia Treno Notte version.
Rinus' review of the LSM version shows how the interior can be modified for day or night set-up.

The Roco models (majority) no longer have pivoting footboards for the inter coach gangways. The LSM models do still include this feature. The Heris models have painted on red taillights.
The main difference that has sparked debate between rivet counters is the appearance of the window frames and this has been discussed in German and French language forums since the models first came out.

One other factor to consider might be the coaches that you intend to partner with one of these T2S models in a consist.

I have the Roco 44925 DB Bcm coach, the new LSM 46073 (Bcm and Bcmh) Set along with some other Roco, Rivarossi, ACME and Heris sleepers and couchettes. I also have a few Sachsenmodelle/Tillig coaches.

For those who have the luxury of having dealers where the models can be inspected and compared, I urge you to do so. For the rest of us, we have to rely on photos and articles like this to make our determination.

In terms of running, all of the 1/87 models are 303mm long and may have issues with R1 and switch lanterns on Maerklin R2.
As far as lighting possibilities, all models do include the place to mount an AC slider or wheel contacts and LED lighting strips can be mounted on the inside.

In the end, it all comes down to which model you are looking for and whether you want to take advantage of the lower prices on the Roco model that is currently offered by some dealers.

hi Rinus and Mike C,

you're right, the best WLAB coach I have ever seen; came from LS Models.
Marklin is the last on the list, but those LS Models and Roco are 1:87. They can not run over R2 switches (it will hit the lantern), and will hit the standard-distance catenary poles on R1 curves. From my experience; those full-length coaches still be able to run on R1 curves, only at short consists of no more than 4 coaches. Longer than that, there will be higher chances of de-railment. And all of the wheels must be replaced with AC-wheel set.

From the price perspective; this Roco coach is a "good-buy" whenever you can get discount. I bought it for 35 euro (inclusive of german tax). But if the price is 50 euro or higher, then LS Models will be the better choice.
