I'm having some problems to adjust the volume of my new ESU BR151. I can't find a way to edit the CV values with my ECoS II. Using an old Marklin Mobile Station, I tried adjusting the master volume CV 63 by lowering the value, but the volume did not change. Individual sounds cannot be changed via the MS because the maximum CV number is 80 andall sound CV's for the BR 151 are higher than that. If anyone has any tips to share, then that would be much appreciated.
Thanks & regards, Oscar

The manual claims: Quote:Eine absolute Weltneuheit verbirgt sich hinter der von Lenz® in Zusammenarbeit mit ESU entwickelten Erweiterung RailComPlus®, mit der der Lok-Sound Decoder ausgestattet ist. Freely translated, this means: "A world first is hidden behind the developed-by-Lenz, in collaboration with ESU developed expansion RailComPlus, with which the Lok-Sound decoder is equipped". I'm a nitwit when it comes to digital, but it appears to be a Lok-Sound decoder with an add-on called RailComPlus. Regards, Oscar

It will be a Loksound 4.0.
CV 63 is the CV for sound volume, is it not?
What software version is your Ecos at? If you have an earlier version, it may not support the Loksound 4.0. I think v3.5.0 is the latest.

RailComPlus has various advanced components, one of them is it is automatically recognized by your ECoS. the advantage of this system is, you can change eery CV et.etc. and I think it has also other feedback features. Without a lokprogrammer I can't help you, as I do all my programming via lokprogrammer. I haven't looked at the aspect of changing CV's with the ECoS and as mentioned before, the loco should be recognized automatically which you haven't mentioned or you haven't noticed. A RailComPlus symbol is shown on the ECoS and if it is a sound decoder it would automatically list it as a BR 151.

The model did not register automatically. I think my firmware needs an update, once I've done that we'll see what happens!

ECoS firmware now updated to most current version. The BR151 registered itself automatically with the ECoS and is working properly. So far, so good. But I still cannot find a way to edit the CV values through the ECoS....

Hi! Using the "Decoder Programming DCC" screen, you should be able to access CV 63 and all other CVs. |
