Thanks, Mike, for the link. That looks very interesting. I also prefer the Bm 4/4 over the Bm 6/6. Let's see when it will be available.

Tim

I'm holding out for the Rbe 540 in NPZ blue livery...
Somewhat off topic- does anyone have experience with LS models on C or K track? Do they perform well? Electronically I'm sure they are fine, but I'm assuming they are developed for a different rail profile and I was wondering how they manage on Marklin track. (or maybe I'm wrong and they do a full test program to ensure smooth operation on Marklin trackage) |

I have the LSM/RailTop RAm and have not had any problems on C or K Track. The company has been building models for AC with AC wheel sets and as Maerklin is the only manufacturer of AC track, they are likely testing it on Maerklin track. Not all models will be capable of running on R1 or smaller.

Armando,
Re: Plastic body.
You may lose a little bit because of the plastic body, but you will gain in higher detail, so it balances out pretty evenly. Comparing a 1960s Lima or Triang lok to Maerklin, the metal Maerklin shell won out every time. With today's moulding technology, plastic shells can be as nice or nicer than the metal ones. Look at the Roco Ae 6/6, Re 4/4II and Re 6/6 with the raised lettering, crests and raised chrome stripes (Ae 6/6). Even the fancier Hag (metal) does not have this.
It's give and take, and if you only look at one aspect, you miss the benefits of the rest.
Regards
