Hi everyone,
I just bought an Intellibox IB-COM Control unit to replace my old Marklin 6020 central unit, 6050 interface and 6002 transformer, but I would like to continue using them for switches and accessories (K83, k84 decoders)and the IB-COM to feed tracks.
The new Intellibox does not have the I2C socket to connect to the 6020 via an adapter but I have read there is a loconet adapter that connects the 6021 (6020 is the same as 6021 without knobs and buttom controls) to the Intellibox LOCONET interface so they can be used together.
Please, can someone tells me if this is possible and how to do it.
Thanks,
Juan

Hi, Juan,

To me it sounds as if the Loconet adapter allows using Loconet controllers with the CU 6021 as master controller of the layout.
I suspect that it does not work the other way around, using an IB Com as master controller with the CU 6020 as slave.

Manual can be downloaded here:

I'd contact their hotline before making that purchase.
Regards
Tom

Hi Juan,

So basically what you want is to use the 6020 as a separate booster to control switches and accessories, with the IB-COM feeding the tracks only. That would work, the switching commands are sent from IB-COM through the 63820 adapter to the 6020. Just make sure you set the MM protocol in the IB-COM for all switches and accessory decoders and don´t connect the 6020 output to the tracks (if you use any C-rail build-in decoders, disconnect them from the track and connect them to the 6020 directly).

Regards, Robert
