My BR50.40 arrived yesterday. I read the manual writing " a 7226 smoke generator can be installed in the normal smoke stack. When the locomotive is running, the smoke stack can be closed with a hatch " but i couldn't find the stack hole for inserting the smoke generator cause the stack has been sealed. Even though the manual demostrates installation but the demostrated steamer in the illustration is different from 37040.
If someone who has this loc knows how to install the smoke generator can answer me this question. Thanks in advance.

Theoretically you just have to remove the cap from the "normal" smokestack at the front and insert the smoke generator.
Practically I never tried it because I was happy to see no green light coming out of the smokestack. With normal operation, smoke would have to come out of the smokestack besides the boiler (loco is not prepared for this), so I decided to leave it without smoke generator and never tried installing one. |
