Hello Marklin friends,

Although I frequent the "Collectors Corner" I am also quite interested in the digital items of Marklin too. At some toy shows I have seen the CS2 demo and I really like how all of the locos running on the layout can be stored on the CS2 unit and I did even hear that there was a plastic card that could store all the information so that if you visit a friends layout you can plug in your card and use your locomotives on their layout.

I am wondering how this information is stored? Is it in a database within the CS unit? Can it be edited on a computer through a server on a network?

I'm wondering because I think it would be fun to develop a software to make it easier to edit the details of the digital locos besides on the tiny CS2 screen.

Best regards,

Paul

After some more research I found this thread:

https://www.marklin-user...se-and-S88-feedback.aspx

Apparently it is possible to access the CS2 database via Ethernet Cable. I suppose then with a wireless router the CS2 could connect to the net and the train data could be pulled. Does anyone know what data format this comes in? Perhaps these technical questions should be address to Tom at Marklin Inc here in the US.

Thanks,

Paul
