With quite a bit of stress, sweat and perseverance I managed to install interior lighting in the passenger cars of the 26559 "Glaskasten" train set.

In the old days, you had these sliders that you could simply hook around the axles of a freight car. I used one of those and ran very, very thin black wires to the two passenger cars. The lights are a Digirails LED strip that you can cut to size, superglued in place. The roofs of the passenger cars can be removed by taking a bunch of matchsticks and using a sharp knife to make thin wedges out of them. These can be inserted between the roof and the sides. It's all plastic and full of very tiny details, so I had to be real careful.

For many of you this is probably a routine job, but not for me (I'm used to the old '60s stuff). These new cars don't have any connection to ground, so I had to run 2 wires instead of just one.

Anyway, it looks really nice and that little loco is awesome. So much detail and a real vibe.

Nicely done Oscar. I have the same set and couldn't figure out how to pop the tops off of the cars to get into the interior.

Looks very nice Oscar, thanks for taking the time to post the photos.

Jeremy.

1). If at first you don't succeed, bungee jumping mightn't be for you.
2). The early bird may get the worm, but it's the second rat that gets the cheese.

Place the first wedges above the entrance/exit doors at both ends and then work sidewards. Only the grey roof comes off; everything else (including all the black plastic details) remain in place.
