We all know this is the greatest website on Marklin and related matters! What are other similar websites focused on HO, Maerklin and model railroading that might be in German or other languages? Thanks, Larry

Search for Stummi, Drehscheibe On Line, Forum Miniatur Wonderland, etc. You can also search for Maerklin, Modellbahn, etc on Yahoo Groups or Google (add Foren/Forum on Google search)
Good hunting

http://forum.3rail.nl/ focussed on Marklin, in Dutch. Lots of references to this forum. http://bahnforum.info/ focus on ÖBB, very informative, strict selection procedure. http://www.beneluxspoor.net/ focus on Dutch railways, DC mainly. Some personal remarks: - national fora are often focussed on their national railways. You like that or not. - do not expect much reactions on your posts if you do not speak their language flawless. - in some fora there is a certain negative attitude towards AC, being sometimes refered upon as toys. - not every forum is as friendly to new mebers as is this one. In some fora you have to behave as a junior member at first having lesser rights to posts and are not allowed in certain parts of the forum. I prefer this forum by far above all others. Juhan created a very nice place to be on the internet. Bye, Rinus

I have been a using Google Chrome for some time now and there are two reasons I stick with it (despite some other annoyances such as not handling 'save as' for images very well) 1: The automatic language translation is very good and 'just happens' - previously with IE is used to translate via babelfish which I still use but the Chrome process is more seamless. 2: Chrome opens considerably faster than IE. What I have often found when browsing foreign sites is that there will be links to links and sometimes they can become a bit of a blur. I've stumbled upon various Deutsche forums and been so envious of the 'knowledgebase' that some of those guys have, and the obvious camaraderie and friendly banter that exists between them. It's enough to make you want to learn German just so you can join in. If I had not met my lovely Nadine, I'm pretty sure I would have made finding a nice Märklin-friendly Fraulein top of my list and have told her she must only talk to me in German - fast way to learn!! I see no reason why we can't start a 'sticky' where interesting foreign sites could be posted with a very brief overview of it?? Cheers Cookee |

Thanks everyone for your great responses.
While I can read German (to some degree), having Google Chrome prompted my question.
English-only readers can now take advantage of easy translations through Chrome.
Cooke, it would be great to start a "sticky" on these sites only I'm not sure how to do that.
Do we have to ask Juhan, I assume?
