I have the earlier ECoS with the power supply that only goes up to 18V. I will be adding an 4A ECoSBoost to this ECoS, but I would also like to swap out the existing 18V ECoS power supply for the more recently supplied 50090 that goes from 14V - 21V. Any issue there, fully compatible?

The factory default is 14 V. Some noobs didn't read the instructions, ran their ECoSs at 14 V and encountered problems with Märklin items ...
No other issues known to me.

Tom

Thanks Tom. This way I can take the layout to 19V, and use the original PS to supply 14-16V for the accessories.

Absolutely right!
A robust booster does all the difference: for ex. my ICE3/7 cars consist was a poor performer, no traction, dim lights...etc.
Now, it climbs the 3% R3 spiral like a rocket!Scared
The Big Boy pulls 50 cars...as if it were nothing...Woot
Why did I wait this long to see the "lights"??Cool
