My first Märklin mld decoder, a #60942, arrived last Saturday. I fitted it into a Brawa BR 119.

#60942 is the 21mtc version; it comes with a mounting board. Note that #60962, where the wires are attached to the decoder, comes with NEM wire colors, while the mounting board of #60942 comes with Märklin Motorola wire colors.

It's a mulit-protocoll, capable of MM, DCC and MFX, analog AC and analog DC; you can deactivate those formats you don't need need on your layot - except DCC. The CVs can be programmed, similar to ESU decoders, the manual provides CV lists for MM and DCC. The decoder comes with the CVs programmed for Märklin c90 motors; I didn't change any CVs yet, as my BR 119 runs very smoothly with these settings. These Brawa DR locos were (and are) made by Life Like for Brawa, so they are technically similar to the American Life-Like (and also to the Athearn) models.
