24997 Uncoupling Track with Digital Decoder 74460

Joined: 06/01/2011(UTC) Posts: 93 Location: Richmond		I came across this topic in the forum, but not sure how could you couple 24997 Uncoupling Track to Digital Decoder 74460? Also i read that you can couple 2 uncoupling tracks to one 74460 decoder. Has anybody tried to venture in this direction.........The idea seems great as the decoder will be hidden beneath the track and you won't have wires running around the layout....... I am running my locomotives using Mobile Station 60653............ Comments and suggestions are welcome, Nakul

Three wires (yellow, blue, green) coming out of the 74460 with a small plug at the end. Cut of the plug and connect the 24997s (one to yellow and blue, the other to yellow and green (blue wire of 24997 to green wire of 74460)). I didn't try with a 74460, but it worked with a 6083 - and a 74460 is just a quarter 6083 (with 10 DIP switches, not just 8 so you can indicate which quarter you want it to be).
