I was reading Lutz Hemmerich's post about the new 37461 BLS Re 465 in the German Drehscheibe Online Forum.
http://www.drehscheibe-f...oren/read.php?10,5587147

I was really impressed with the improved lighting compared to the earlier models with LEDs.

There have been some comments about the fact that a single red light is not available as a function, as well as criticism of a missing handrail on the lok face directly under the windshield and roof antennae that are not exact to prototype.

I was not even aware that there was an second extra handrail on the BLS loks vis-a-vis the SBB Re 460s. I knew that they had four where the SBB loks only had three. The added handrail directly under the windshield was likely added to the loks following delivery. I did see that this detail seems to appear on some Hag and Roco models, but not on all of them.

I am considering this lok, but it will have to wait due to the fact that a large quantity of ordered SBB items from ACME and LS Models have arrived at my dealer. I am definitely looking forward to seeing a SBB Re 460 in the current livery (no 2000 marking on the front) with the improved lighting functions. Hopefully Lutz will be able to reach out again and get Maerklin to add the single red light as an additional function.

The BLS Re 465 would also look good pulling the Hangartner container Set or any other Hupac container/truck consist.

The lok has revision dates from 2009, so would not prototypically be used with EWIV coaches. I do presume it could still be used with Hag Golden Pass coaches or even regular blue/beige EWI from Hag.

Regards

Thanks for the link.. mine is on order at Lokshop. I have the 39606 that I got a few years back when it came out. The light functions in that already have the red light option, but I believe only a single red light comes on and not both as the pictures of Lutz show. So which one is correct? one light or two?

In any event, this is used only when the loc runs alone right? If it is in push mode then it's only one white light.

I believe the 39606 already has the four handrails on the face, I will check later.

Also have the 39602 of the SBB with the same functions. Both models have the great C-Sinus motor. I am very pleased with both of them.

Now waiting for this new model!

That is correct; all previous 460/465 models with LEDs have this; however, opposite to the SBB 460 the BLS 465 used two red rear lights already then. This has now been corrected for the new model in line with the corresponding current SBB/BLS and EU train standards.

Two today.

No.

Only if the pushing 460/465 is uncoupled at the end of a train, for coupled pushing its two red.

Yes. This was correct at that time.

If somebody wants a design change to a given model s/he should contact Märklin direct.

Is this valid throughout Switzerland or only for the BLS portion? So if I have a push-pull train, the loco in push mode should have the two red lights, correct?

Yes (we're talking here about the Re460/465).
