I have not been good at keeping up with catalogues and M databases those last few years, so can somebody tell me the difference(s) between 31859 and 31860 (Krokodil sets)?

Cheers,
Ricky Smile

Ricky, the 31859 was in the 2009/2010 Catalog and the 2009 new Items Brochure. There is no memtion of the 31860.

Now if there was a 31860 one would have had a 220V Power Supply and the other a 110V Power
supply.
After saying that I did a google search and some US Dealers were advertising the 31860.
NO difference in hte descriptions or function or items
Very ODD. SO my guess is that the difference is the Power supply input Voltage.

hi Guys,

Speaking, subject to correction, here is some info;

31859 was a limited offering of 3 Krokodiles celebrating 150 years of Marklin manufacture. Limited, I believe, to 1859 sets.
The 31859 set has sequentially numbered Zertificats.

31860 was a subsequent offering of an addditional 500 sets not sequentially numbered. I do not know if it has a Zertificat
or not. I believe it is ex. catalogue.

Each set contains the same three Krokodiles. While I do have examples of each they are all in storage overseas so I can't help
with more than this basic answer. For example the Kroks in 31859/31860 sets might have different road #'s for all I know.

Perhaps Stefan or Mike or Guy could clarify, expand or completely debunk the above!!

Jeremy.

ps. Regarding numbers of sets made, Marklin is a private company and who really knows finite numbers as they do not have to
disclose anything. Again please correct if untrue.j.
Jeremy.

31860 was a decoration set for dealers (500 made, with "Zertifikat"). One dealer wrote that loco numbers were different from 31859, but same type of locos and same liveries.

It seems that locos from 31859 have the number 31859, while those from 31860 have the number 1859.

Yes, Stephen, I just noticed my error.

Just found the differences were already discussed here:
