Thinking of buying Liliput BLS L388596 coach along with the L38945 lighting unit.
Anybody own these and if so are they OK with Marklin C track. Also is the lighting unit any use if modified and run through from the loco with CC couplers. Dont think Lilput can supply sliders etc.
Many thanks

David:

If you are modelling a BLS EWIII consist, the AC model of the pilot coach already has a slider. It would probably be easier to connect the coaches to the pilot coach using VIessman's Fleischmann based current conducting coupler. I don't know whether Bachmann-Liliput makes lighting kits for these coaches, but you may be able to order the ground pickups as spare parts for the pilot coach and then install any LED lighting kit using two sided tape to adhere it to the inside of the roof. I would urge caution in disassembling these models as I have had a problem with window pieces falling out on various Liliput models, including the EWIII. The pilot coach does have a factory installed decoder (ESU) that likely also has the connections to allow you to digitally control the interior lights. Consult the ESU manual that comes with the pilot coach to find out more.

Hi Mike. Thanks for input. A dealer here in the UK has two for sale at a reasonable price but this does not include a pilot coach. I like to light all my coaches and put in passengers . There is a lighting unit for the coach but only for two rail operation. I am sure I could fix up lighting via cc couplers but on the other hand as you say there can be problems when opening the units.
It is not often BLS coaches in a blue colour scheme are available. HAG had them a few years ago but are no longer made and Marklin does not appear to have anything.
Not having bought anything from Liliput before and tend to buy Marklin,Roco and Brawa where I know the quality etc and how to instal lights and Preisers.
When looking at my coaches the other day it struck my that they all are green and it would be nice to see something different in the future.
Thanks again for info.

Roco has the blue/beige BLS EWIV coaches in both 1/100 and 1/87. It is also possible to find Rivarossi BLS Golden Pass coaches at Roundhouse.ch and other dealers. Some still have the Liliput BLS EWI and EWII in the classic blue/beige livery.
Liliput's EWIII come in AD (1st class with baggage), A (1st class), B (2nd class) and Bt (2nd class pilot coach). It seems that the pilot coach, first class and baggage coaches are still readily available. The second class coach is harder to find, perhaps due to people having more than one 2nd class coach per consist. I run an EWIII consist with either my Maerklin 39606 (Re 465) or with my Roco 69844 (Re 420.5).

You can also find the Lima BLS coaches by searching Lima BLS on eBay.de. Roundhouse.ch has a list of Lima stock numbers under HO and Lima. You can then search for those item numbers on eBay or in the listings.

EMB-Gmbh (Emmental Modellbau) has a coach set with EWI and matching pilot coach, but it is a little expensive as the coaches are hand built based on the Lima/Hag models.

Thanks Mike. I now have good selection to look at. I think I will go for the Roco coaches as I know what I am getting and should be able to instal lighting.
You are certainly our expert on all things Swiss.

I have a set of Lilliput BLS coaches in the NINA colors. I also have the driving coach but the slider sometimes makes contact at switched with the cross rails, bummer.
