Hi Steven,

Just voted. I have a Uhlenbrock IB-COM, which really is a Intellibox without any knobs or display, used as a computer interface. I run it with ITrain on a MacBook. One drawback: no MFX on IB-COM available.

Best regards, Robert

I voted for the CS1 with MS1. I got the current ESU re-loaded firmware with the switch mode PSU and two MS1's. I was uncertain whether it count as a CS1 or an ECOS.

Kenneth

Kenneth, your CS1R would qualify as an Ecos, as the functionality of your CS1R is equivalent to the Ecos.

As for me, I'm not sure what to vote, as I have a 6021, CS1, Ecos and CS2! I currently am using the Ecos on the layout and the CS2 (sometimes with CS1 as an auxiliary controller) on the carpetbahn.

So, I cheated and voted for all 4!

I voted CS2 and a MS2, both operate seperate sections of the layout.

Ian.

As do I. Probably should also have an option for those who have remote control via an iThingy.

I don't know how you guys managed to cheat, but I voted CS2, but in reality it's CS2 with a 6021 plugged in through the fancy whizz bang box.

However, if people want to vote for multiple options, we can change the poll.

Good old Control Unit 6021 with Interface 6051 for me, even if I have an MS1 too.

Edit: plus Control 80f 6036, two Keyboard 6041 and two Memory 6043.

I still use my old but very reliable 6021 with 2 control 80f's, 2 control 80's and a infra control 80f with 2 IR controls.I have quite a number of non Marklin locomotives as well as a number of Marklin locomotives fitted with ESU non mfx decoders, so I recon I will be one of the last to switch to somthing more sophisticated.

Hannes
Every day provides new opertunities. H0 mostly Marklin, still using my 6021, LGB in Gauge 1, live steam in larger gauges.

I'm using a 60214 (CS2) with 1.4.0 software version; it's linked to my linux PC via ethernet cable; automatic mode is performed by the Rocrail software (fantastic software !);

Compared to my old 6021+6050, it's a huge improvement.

Greetings from Lyon, France.

If looking for an accurate poll the selection would be 6021. MS. CS. ECOS. IB. Viessmann.

It does not really matter which CS or MS is used or what they are combined with as this distorts the final picture.
Another distortion in any type of poll is that a minority will always vote whereas the majority dont bother.
So far we have had 49 votes which is very small compared to the membership.

Please dont take my comments the wrong way as it is an interesting poll but with IB and Viessmann added the even smaller minority could have a clear vote.

dave
Take care I like Marklin and will defend the worlds greatest model rail manufacturer.

I use my trusty 6021, but if I do change to something newer it will probably be to a MS2. There isn't an option on the poll for those who just use an MS, is there?

Mostly Marklin.Selection of different eras and European railways
Small C track layout, control by MS2, 100+ trains but run 4-5 at a time.

Maybe Stephen could add an option for MS1 only or MS2 only?

I use 4 digital controllers

1 x 6020 for my turnouts-memory-S88's
1 x 6021 for locos with less than 2 functions
Mobile station
ECoS for all my other locos
1 radio control

I've noticed in the very beginning, having a short on the layout or a train derailed and created a short the whole system shuts dwon.
To keep signals and turnouts alive I've separated all the K83 from the main controller.
