Location: On 1965 Märklin Boulevard just around from Roco Square
Manufacturer: Märklin
Catalogue Number: 3125, 3126
Loco: RCe 2/4, Number 203
Country: SBB
Wheel arrangement: B'2'
Metal body and frame
Motor: DC with flywheel and drive shaft
Rubbertyres: 4
Motorised axles: 2
Lights: 3 front & rear
Length: 25.7cm
Interior light: yes
Decoder: ESU V3
Pulling Power: more than adequate

The original version of the 3125, 3126 was noisy.
I've converted it with a newer motor (old one ceased due to de-raolment), ESU decoder and Led's, also the interior Led can now be activated from Function 1.

It runs very smoothly now and the noise level has been reduced considerable.
It runs alright on any track without derailing or any other discomfort.
Swiss lighting arrangements has also been incorporated.
The loco can be operated via the overhead system or the slider, which I have interchanged with a Roco silent pickup shoe.

Hi John

Interesting, is your new motor from the last version, forgot the number, if so could you perhaps provide a part number?

I have a 3125, digitized with a ESU decoder but the mechanism is just too noisy for me.Crying

Thanks

Hannes

Hannes,

The spare part number is: 137115

http://www.maerklin.de/d...e/suche/ersatzteile.html

for some reason it is not available.

Putting a new motor into the 3125/3126/3127 isn't easy.

The new motor is larger and I had to file the side supports to be able to slide the motor into it. Also the interior fitting had to be altered by cutting away some of the plastic to be able to fit the motor back into it, however this spare part 207585) only costs Euro 1.99.
