First post folks, please have mercy if I do something wrong. Trying to attach a 7651 digital board to the base of a 7651 dig crane. Somebody has disconnected all the wires, I need to solder wires back on. Yes, I know the board has nice notes on the solder pads of scharz, violet, rot, braun, blau (2 tabs), grun (2 tabs), grau, braun. But I can not trust that the wires coming from the 2 motors are correct, based on the disaray I am looking at. I GUESS that the 2 wires from field coil from motor 1 will go to the 2 blue tabs, and 2 wires from field coil motor 2 go to the 2 green tabs. Correct?? The wire from the top of crane (light I think) seems to be gray, so this goes to grau tab. Let me stop guessing and ask, does anyone have the info I am looking for?

Secondly, I need some operating instructions. Will be using a 6021. Thanks in advance, Tim Eckert

Hi Tim welcome to the forum. If you send me your email address, I have a pdf of the 7652 digital crane, which has the wiring details for the circuit board.

I also have the 7651 operating instructions.

And I don't even have a digital crane! (got 2 7051's though).

Hey guys, thanks for the warm welcome!! As a brief intro: I am in Concord North Carolina, USA. Been doing Marklin HO for over 50 years. I do understand digital, but I have NOT been keeping up with mfx and all the other changes that M has been doing since the 6021. I am more into the Marklin HO from the 40s 50s 60 and 70s. I like to repair these, and ended up being a "parts guy" for such.

Loves other than Marklin: Wife Dianne and my 5 children and 1 granddaughter, Frank Zappa, Mopar, and 426 HEMI

My email is (removed by webmaster for anti-spam/privacy reasons, you can send email & PM:s via the forum) and I hope to be able to help others and I do thank the forum for the help it seems I have already received.

I hope I haven't violated too many rules yet.

Tim Eckert

BTW, did I mention Zappa?? He was a GENIOUS!!! and very satirical.

Tim
By amazing coincidence I purchased one of these last week .. arrived yesterday but nothing worked .. the gears were completely stuck (grease/oil had solidified after many years without use) .. So I had to strip it down completely to get it running again.. bit fiddly but good old Marklin once it all came apart re-oiled .. put back together and bingo running like new

Wiring is as follows

Black wire attaches to right hand brush (carbon) on motor at front
Purple wire attaches to right hand brush (carbon) on motor at side
next two pinns are power and ground (red and brown)
Two Blue attaches to one side of the coils on each motor (outside)
Two Greens attach to the other side of the coils on each motor (inside)
Grey goes to the light in the cabin
Brown is attached to the top screw that holds on the front motor faceplate

There are also black wires that connect from the coil where the green wire attaches and run to the other brush (copper) .. one on each motor

Hope that helps

Cheers
