I have a 3015 from the 1960's, I believe. It has a manual reversing lever. The last year the Marklin catalogue mentions such a lever is 1962-63. I am assuming on the strength of this that my lok was produced no later than this period. This would make it a 3015.10 roughly corresponding to the 1959-64 period. I know that Koll's uses colour as a differentiation between the last two versions of the 3015, but quite frankly I just about go blind trying to differentiate between blau grun and tannen grun. It came with OVP but the date is 1969, so it may not be the correct box. Given that later versions of the 3015 came without the reversing lever, is it a sound assumption that my Croc is a 3015.10?

The Mikado catalogue suggests that the hand reversing lever was discontinued around 1970, so your croc could well be from 1969 with its original box. In that case, it's probably a 3015.11 in Koll's terms.

This is not an exact science!

My 3015 is from 1970, it comes with the dark blue box and it has the reversing lever. I think that this specific model came with the reversing lever until it was discontinued in 1975, so your OVP is correct and your loco belongs to 1968-1969 batch.

Thanks very much for your clarifications.

Hello,
What is this Mikado catalog? Is it all Marklin? Is it printed in English? Color pictures? Any info would be appreciated.

The Mikado Catalogue is an alternative to Koll's. It has better photos (all in colour), and further details of, for example, train sets made by Märklin. It covers Märklin H0 from the beginning (1935) up to about 1965, so is mainly for collectors of older stuff.

The latest edition I know of is the 3rd edition, from September 2005.

Here's a link to a seller:

I bought mine at a swapmeet in Germany a few years ago.
