I have one on order too; but, from AJCKIDS. Really looking forward to seeing it; but, my dealer hasn't seen one yet. I bought some passenger cars to go with it.

Looks very nice. How is the sound quality and is it all metal like the other versions? I have the earlier non sound version, 36423, it runs great and can really pull alot of cars.

Chris I found this on YouTube: Märklin Information:The locomotive is constructed of metal, has an mfx digital decoder, a special can motor with a flywheel, and sound functions that can be controlled. 4 axles powered. Traction tires. The triple headlights change over with the direction of travel, will work in conventional operation, and can be controlled digitally. The headlights are maintenance-free LEDs. Length over the buffers 23.9 cm / 9-3/8". Maikel (RMW) |

I find these hobby loks (non sound ones anyway) to be remarkable values. I have two - I may have to add sound. Eric

I would be curious to see a picture of the chassis with the shell off. Also, are the lights still yellow LEDS or have they been upgraded to warm white? |

I was watching a "you tube" of the prototype running in Russia. (Well it said Russian diesel and it looked like the Ludmilla to me.) I was surprised at the amount of black smoke coming from the engine. I wonder if they ever considered smoke generators for a diesel.

Märklin made an electric loco that was prepared for a smoke generator. An old Bavarian type that had an oven for train heating. |

My Ludmilla just arrived. I work in Virginia Beach; but, my family is in Richmond. I just arrive home and there was this nice big package from AJCKIDS. Naturally, my train track and mobile station is back in Virginia Beach . But, I have to say that pictures don't do it justice. It seems nice and heavy. The family was really impressed with it. I was glad to see and hear the model in the movies! It will be nice to crank it up and run it around the carpet bahn.
