Hello All,
After a long wait, I finally received the Intellibox and Uhlenbrock 75200 decoders.
I have to say, that running locos digitally (we have a 01.10 and a Delta BR111) is great. You should have seen the eyes of our daughter when we sounded the steam horn. But I degress.

I also converted two locos with the 75200 (more to that in another post) and here is the problem:

Programming of the decoder with the Intellibox is straight forward as long I can use the IB's built in functions (i.e Loco address; min/max speed).
However, to program the function keys, turn on/off thing such as load control (back EMF?) I have to switch the decoder into the old Motorola format and then use the rather tedious 6021 procedures to call CV's and type in new values. A process I found is prone to errors.

What PC software is available to program 75200s using the IB?
Uhlenbrock seems to sell "Loktools" but I could not find any info on it. Winpro2 can program Uhlenbrock decoders, but I think only DCC.

Any suggestion for decoder programming software, experience with it is most welcome.

Thanks ... Hans

I do not have the answer, but a possibility for an answer can maybe found at:
info@vanbiervliet.com
This is a Belgian trainshop owner who sells the decoders and he is a guy (the father) who is quit acquainted with computers.
Try your luck!! - one can never now <img src=icon_smile.gif border=0 align=middle>

I would suggest you to download the "Handbook" for Uhlenbrock EMF-decoders (unfortunately only in German for 2002) at http://www.uhlenbrock.de...e59-004.APD/Dhb75200.pdf .
There is also a kind of obscure description saying that the programming menu 5 or 37 on the IB could be used to set the values at http://www.uhlenbrock.de...3/1/0/6/ib7195eb-001.htm . I've also put the question to Uhlenbrock via e-mail, maybe they will answer sooner or later...

Hello CVDW and Webmaster,

I will contact the Belgian Store.

I have downloaded the Uhlenbrock Decoder Handbook which is a must. Unfortunately, there is only one short paragraph discussing the use of software for programming with the IB and there is no mentioning what software can be used.
I am also not so sure about those Sonderfunktionen (and I do speak German). I thought that the programming function "Special options" (=Sonderfunktionen) in the IB menu would allow to get to these CVs (i.e 05 or 37), but it seems not to work. I will try again, I was just hoping for some input from people who use their IB for programming.

I have played around with the 75200 upgraded locos and I find that for the most part, the programming features provided through the IB are sufficient. I was able to activate the "Rangiergang" function, but found that by choosing proper min. and max. speed values, the locos have a pretty good slow speed movement so that a "Rangiergang" is really only necessary when I would use a very high max. speed which may not be realistic.

All in all I am quite happy with the IB and the Uhlenbrock decoders which I put into a BR89 (#3000) and a F7 (#3062). I still have three more locos to convert.

I hope you get an answer from Uhlenbrock. A previous e-mail of mine never got answered.

Thank again ... Hans
