Hi,

Putting together a Marklin Christmas Train. I have four Christmas cars thus far. Does anyone know what this years car is? pic of it? ALso where there is a list of them? with pics?

Have a look here. Cannot tell you the Christmas car will be for 2010 but here you can see what previous cars are. what he has listed are for sale.

Hi,

Marklin have been producing an annual Christmas wagon since 1993, making a total of seventeen to date. In addition there have been a number for different markets including three or four for Switzerland on the basis of the 4735 HBIS wagon produced towards the end of the 1990s. The German Post Museum had some on the basis 4680 and 4481, possibly three and two. There have been a number for Christmas markets, Munich and Ulm and possibly others. Christmas beers have have also been popular. There is the potential for quite a trainload if you make Christmas a theme. Keep looking on E-bay is probably your best bet. Remember to use the German "Weinacht" when doing a search.

Photos of some but not all these wagons may be found on the Bigio sight.

This year's wagon will probably be announced when the Autumn brochure comes out, probably in September or October.

All of Marklins Christmas cars look like crap.
They better make them something usefull you can actually use to run around the christmas tree, not something you will feel ashamed about.

Mostly Marklin.Selection of different eras and European railways
Small C track layout, control by MS2, 100+ trains but run 4-5 at a time.

It will be 48410 but have to wait until September to find out.

Christmas !!!! gee it still summer here. I think these cars are probably for collectors as I dont fancy running them behind any of my locos. Nice for the kids though. (which is probably us !!)

Some are different to find on ebay, It is very collector items and Price up to 70 Euros each.

Hi,

Like anything else on e-bay,you should have your price and if bidding goes beyond that point, forget about it. There will always be another one. I would agree the Swiss vans can get quite expensive but the normal annual examples from Marklin are produced in fairly large numbers and so should appear second hand fairly often and should go for a reasonable price.

Agreed Ray,

I have most - not all - think they look great, but each to his own I guess. I put some with Christmas
loc 37351, some with the red class 10 37082 and my glass cars I pull with my snowy croc 39569. Winter
layout hasn't been "up" for a couple of yars though.

I was fortunate to get my Christmas tree cars before they were found to be from made of gold and silver

Hi sorry to bust in on your xmas stuff but whats your Marklin collection made up of. I have not ever met anyone in England who collects SNCF Marklin! and who is planning a layout to bring to shows!!

Hi Dan. I am afraid I am not in England either BigGrin and dont collect SNFC.
There are very few in the UK who run Marklin, with Roco and Fleischmann being the preferred European makes. IF your interest is in SNFC I am sure somebody here in the forum will help. Maybe you could open another thread and see if ytou can get a response from somebody near where you are.
