Folks,
I managed to purchase this station on Ebay recently (thought it would go well with the Maxi Xmas trains)

UserPostedImage

It came in what is possibly the original box (brown cardboard, stapled together) which has no label on the outside but a stamp of "2002 B" on one side ...

Is there an equivalent "Kolls" for O Gauge where I can determine age and value?

Cheers

Hi,
I don't know about 0 gauge but it looks like the HO Station marklin number 414 made between the late 30's and early 50's. If so, I assume it is a repaint as it looks as good as new.
Regards

Thanks for that .. yes you are correct it is pretty much the same as the HO 414 station but bigger :-)

I dont think it has been retouched .. the interior paint colours match exactly (inside the building, under roof etc) .. from the state of the box I think it has been sitting in the top of someones cupboard for a very long time.. (still has the original tissue paper in the box).. Given it is a brown cardboard box i am assuming that this was produced prior to Marklin moving to the red/blue stamped boxes ..

Do we know when Marklin stopped producing O Gauge?

Cheers

Hello,

Great station, to me the paint looks original, but it is hard to tell just by looking at a picture. Marklin stopped producing O Gauge in the early 1950s. They began phasing it out with the introduction of HO scale in 1935, but continued production until 1950s and we can find the original "O Gauge" catalogs from this time.

Best regards,

Paul

Hello Sprogger,

regarding your question about an equivalent to Koll you want this:

http://www.schiffmann-verlag.de

Click onto "Sammlerkataloge"

Many regards,

Hans
I like M-track and my things that run on it were built between 1959 and 1972.

Paul .. yes as far as I can tell it is original piant job .. I have been searching ebay.de but have not seen any O gauge catalogues come up .... will keep looking

Hans.. thanks for that .. presumably I would have to purchase the Marklin Zubehor document for EUR24 to see what this station is worth?

Yes, I agree with you -- I think it is original. If you are looking for a good O Gauge catalog, I have the 1934/1935 one...it is great because it includes all O Gauge / I Gauge, stations, signal, track, boats, steam, etc! I also have an extra Band 1 Schiffmann katalog that includes all locomotives and stations too. I have two years: 1985 and 1986, but I don't need two of them, they are the same basically.

Best regards,

Paul

Thanks for that ... maybe you could scan the 1934/35 catalogue and add it to the database?

Am happy to take the extra Schiffman off your hands (assuming it has the 2002B in it?).. maybe PM me with what its worht plus postage?

Cheers

Ok I'll send you a PM with the details...Sorry, I'd rather not scan -- there was a forum in Germany that got in big trouble by Marklin for doing this and it might happen hear too...just to be safe. If you would like scans of certain models, I would be more than happy!

Best regards,

Paul

Hi, A Walter Sammler catalog is a good ref. for Most Marklin "O" rolling stock
They pop up on eBay from time to time. I got one that spans from approx 1918 to the early 50's (end of production.
To my understanding though Marklin was not manufacturing "O" at ant time after the war and was
building out existing stock. The last time "O" was offered was 1954. Best DaveMellow
