Summary:
· Turnover for the year up 5% to £64.7 million (2009: £61.6 million)

· Cash generation strong, net debt reduced to £3.2 million (2009: £11.8 million)

· Underlying profit before tax* of £5.7 million (2009: £6.3 million)

· Reported profit before tax of £5.2 million (2009: £6.1 million)

· Statutory basic earnings per share of 9.76p (2009: 11.17p)

· Dividend of 5.0p declared (2009: 2.7p)

Very good results ideed. Strong financials, certainly this company will survive the crisis. I particularly like the net debt reduction while maintaining profitability.

Hornby is a well run Company and has diversified over the years. Looked briefly at Marklin .. very briefly .. as nobody will pay the current asking price for M.
The Company has the rights for models for the Olympic Games in London which hopefully will boost profits further. There is no doubt that model rail will not expand much and is more likely to contract but with plastic kits and Dr Who models etc there is still scope for further profitability.

dave . PS I do have an interest in Hornby as a Company
Take care I like Marklin and will defend the worlds greatest model rail manufacturer.

Very impressive results.. turning over 9% gross profit out of their total revenue.

In terms of their overall revenue, it is now closer in size to Marklin as opposed just a few years ago.
Now collecting C-Sine models.

Those results, I am sure, were helped tremendously by the James May series..Cool

I presume this thread is still here lol. Why move it anywhere as it has now been read and I expect finished.
Adrian. I think James May did help although the locos did not quite perform as expected but then again if the locals nicked the track and controllers it did spoil the programme. I would have used Marklin C track which would have been better but of course cost a fortune.
