ON Saturday I learnt an amazing fact and Piece of History.

In the fair Queensland City of Rockhampton Queensland Rail have their Loco/Engine Driver training school.
Before they are let loose they have to be taught the basics, signal meaning etc.

to do this they have a HUGE model train layout, approx 10 Mtrs long and (wait for it) it is Marklin and over 20 years old. The have a fleet of F7s and rolling stock.

Recently they thought that it would be a good idea to have model of the actual QR locos. one maker of QR rolling stock is not particularly interested but another has converted a Diesel Loco to 3 rail and will be doing some more.
He has mainline locos and a selection of Suburban Trains of QLD origin and also Sydney and Melbourne Suburban trains.

HE is considering offering them for public sale.

NOt wearing the Pink Pinny, which is hard to see and now I have a white Pinny which also is hard to see against MY pure white Skin Still have 2 new shiny tin Hips that is badly in Need of Repair matching rusting tin shoulders
and a hose pipe on the aorta

I know, that is unfortunate. ANother thing QR want the current fleet so as to make work as real as possible.
