Hi,

I finally get around weathering the Aral tank car which bought for that purpose; it had some paint defects so was a perfect candidate for this job.

Sorry, this time I don't have the "before" and "in-progress" photos Crying

Here we have some similar prototypes:

That's a 1st class weathering job, Cem! The direction of the weathering looks right, and i like the selective weathering you did on the trucks. I used to work at a railroad car plant and certain things were not allowed to have paint on them for inspection purposes. Those being, wheels and axles, springs as well as the couplers. So even a brand new car fresh out of our shop had rusty parts. So what you did with this car is spot on! Excellent! BigGrin

Hi guys,

I'm glad you liked it.

Bill, it is so great to hear that I was correct in translating my observations of the prototypes to the model. Thanks for your insight.

Excellent weathering.

I think it is hot on tank roof with sundirect.

Hi Steven,

Thank you. I guess you're right; I'm actually pretty surprised to see that many prototypes with similar "aging" effects.

Brilliant job Cem. Are you going to do all your tank wagons like that?

Gary hi,

Thank you BigGrin

In fact this is the first tank car I weathered, now I started the second one and it is a real challenge. At the end of the day I would like all my rolling stock (the ones I will run) weathered but I have time constraints; the work is progressing slowly but I'm not in a hurry Cool

Cem,

You did the weathering very good and I guess you did it with an air brush? Only one small critical point: I miss the stickering on the information plate to top it off (danger signals a.o.). When you go to the web site of the Märklin Magazine www.maerklin-magazin.de you will find under 'downloads' and then 'themen archiv' and then 'folge 7' a good example how to use decals on the plate. Even Märklin gives numbers of decals they have in stock. Good luck!
