Hi Friends,

Scott at Helmuts Hobbies is now offering weathering as part of his
services. He is weathering the DB 50 w/brakemans cab and 2 X sets of
DB older design (Mobil)tank cars for me. Prices seem very reasonable
to me, but he gave me a very decent "pkg" rate. This is my Christmas
present to myself althought I won't have it for a couple of months.

Jeremy.

Please post some pics when you get them back, Jeremy. I'd like to see how they turn out. Scott is a great guy to deal with. I do most of my business with him and I met him in person over the summer.

I know this was a couple years ago, but I'd love to see the photos of your weathered Lok.
Were you happy with it?

Hi Mark,

See hereBigGrin BigGrin ThumpUp ThumpUp

What do you think? This was a bit of a splurge and I regret only getting two sets of the Mobil tankers but subsequently
Will found me three more Blushing Blushing. Please ignore the white spots in the photo, they are from M styrofoam packing.

Thanks for posting guys,

ps. Scott has an additional incentive on costs when you puchase from him items to be weathered.j.

Hi Jeremy,

My congratulations to the artist. I like the work.

I am hoping to learn how to work like this eventually, and use my art background in a different way. I have been thinking a lot about the idea of collecting and artwork as it applies to model railroading and I have to say there is a lot of talent on this forum.

Is Scott on this forum?
Cheers

I've weathered my Preiser figures the other day, took them outside into the garden soil and put the sprinklers on, than baked them in 40° C heat and the resuilt was dissapointing, they all died.LOL

It sure is hell being put out to pasture. Indoor plants have to be carefully transplanted, first to 60-70% shade for 2-3 weeks. Gradually decreasing the amount
of shade over a period of time will lead to an easier successful transplant. Yes - plants can get get burnt.

Requiescat in pace.
