Looking for some information please. I have an M* 42941 Riviera Express set of cars. I want to add lights. The booklet says that I need the following:

Baggage car: 7335 Lighting kit
2nd class coach: 7330
1st/2nd class: 73150
Dining car: 73155

The Marklin site says that the 7335 / 7330 will work with the 7319 Current-Conducting Close Coupler Drawbars (Retrofit kit for all modern 26.4 cm / 10-3/8", and 27 cm / 10-5/8" Märklin H0 cars with guide mechanisms.)

I am trying to do the entire consist with just one pickup shoe. Second, I would prefer LED lights.

Is it possible to do the entire consist with LED, and if so which company and part numbers, and is there a Current-Conducting Close Coupler that works with all 5 coaches?

Regards,

Thomas

Hi Thomas Smile

LED lights should be 73400/73401 as they shall be quite universal wink 73400 is with yellow LED's and 73401 has white LED's.
From Märklin homepage : "Universal circuit board with several LEDs, which will fit in most of the passenger cars in the Märklin H0 program"

For 7330 / 7335 you'll need 2 x 73400 LED and 1 x 73404 pickup shoe and for 73150 you'll need 2 x 73400 LED and 1 x 73405 pickup shoe Smile

If you want to use current conducting close-coupler I would do it like this :
Put the pickup shoe at the baggage car, i.e. 1 x 73404 and use then 72020 for rest of the wagon's [:p]
Don't forget the set 72050 (Grounding contacts for 5 wagons)

Pål,

Great information, very helpful. M* recommends the yellow lights for older era coaches, do you have a preference?

I need to find some photos for comparison.

regards,

Thomas

<br />For the current conducting coupling of the baggage coach you can't use the coupling spring; just solder a wire to the copper contact of the coupling and feed that through the NEM pocket into the coach.

Thanks Lutz, appreciate that.

Regards,

Thomas
