Hello,

Can anyone tell me the Marklin item number for a BR85 with running number 085 010 (with DB logo).
I haven't been able to find it.

Thanks!

Our club has the 29840 set. The Br85 from it runs fine, as does the Br55.

It is a great model, strongly suggested; very powerful, super-quiet DCM, very nice and fat sound, can add smoke.

Hi Eric,
I also have starter set 29840 with this model?

I really like that 85 class, it works well, good puller, and looks very purposeful.

The only trouble I had was something to do with the couplers. Only with some thunderbox coaches, the coach next to the engine derailed on one set of curved points. I never figured out why. I just did not use that engine with thunderboxes.

regards
Kimball

Very interesting Kimball,

I'm having the same problem with Br55 from the same set and thunderboxes. I thought it was a problem caused by M-track. I've had no problems in r2 curves though.

This seems to be a thunderbox car problem, don't you think?

HI Cem,
Did you get the complete set?
I gave up using donnerbusch cars that came with the set, with the 85, and used the 55 instead, which works fine.
The 85 has a very long coupler shank, which I thought might be the problem.

Kimball hi,

It's geting even weirder biggrin

No, I didn't get the whole set; I bought the locos and the thundeboxes seperately. Although if I use the gepackwagen at back problem seems to lessen.

I'm dismantling my layout at the moment and on the new one I plan to use only r3 - r4 curves. We'll see what happens then Smile

Hi Steven,

The one we are talking about here is the one from the starter set. I think the sound option on single loco, the one you refer to, came out last year?
