Hi everyone,

I bought a Marklin 37050 equiped with DC Maxon motor 37050 (specially produced by Maxon to Marklin) and a sound decoder from marklin.
The motor was damaged and I had to buy a new one from Marklin (very expensive). After I have changed the motor I saw that also the decoder was damaged. I tested and the decoder was suppling the motor with AC current and, I presume, that was the reason why the first motor was damaged.
I decided to replace the original decoder with a Loksound 3.0 M4.
Now the lok works rather well and has full sounds.
What I need now is to get the right parameters to program the loksound decoder for this type of motor.
Can anyone be kind enough to provide me the right values? Also can anyone point me a website where I can find such values (for several types of motor)?

Best regards,

Luis Valente (from Portugal)

Our local NZ Marklin dealer has a data sheet available for download, which has some CV settings for
Marklin locos with Maxxon motors for ESU decoders.

Go to www.toottoot.co.nz click on 'Downloads' on the left hand side of the page. The document you want is
'Recommended CV settings for Marklin Motors and LokPilot Decoders (pdf)'

Hi Luis,
I really feel your pain.. just checked the sparepart database, and the motor is, as you say, very expensive.
There isn't seem to be any suitable alternative too.

Wish you well with your newly fixed model.

Hi, Luis,

Someone with a 37052 could read the settings from their M4 decoder [assuming motors are the same] (maybe I can do it later).

How do you program your loco?
Depending on your controller values will be 0..64 or 0..255 ...
Regards
Tom

Hi, Luis,

Here are the parameters from my 37052 (read with Central Station 1 3.0.1):
Min. speed: 5
Max. speed: 210
Regulation reference: 112
Regulation parameter K: 45
Regulation parameter I: 97
Regulation influence: 214

If you program via MM protocol (CU 6021, IB, etc.) you have to divide values by 4.

Tom

Hi everyone once again,
Indeed the price of the motor was very high and I found no alternative. I even contacted Maxon but they replied that motor was specially designed to Marklin and they had no specifications to supply to me.
24 hours were enough to get lots of good information. I am very gratefull to you all.
Now I am going to program my loco and I will be back with the results.
I am using a Ecos 50000 with update 3.0.1 (same of the CS1 reloaded).
Also I own a Lokprogramer so it's very easy to me to make the necessary changes.

I will let you know about the results.

Best regards,

Luis Valente

PS: I am going to create another Topic regarding puting a Trix CSinus locomotive on working in Motorola format. All the help will be wellcome

For these cases there's actually an alternative:

http://www.sb-modellbau....577&cPath=256_27_136

It's cheaper and it's exactly the same motor.

Didn't realize that the streamlined 05 used the same motor as the BR 45!
Thanks, Luis.

Isn't that interesting that Marklin packaged the whole motor with the worm gear just so that you pay that much more expensive?

This kind of things from M* is so frustrating...
Why can't they just be more open and honest with their packaging?

I hope whoever buys Marklin fix this kind of 'extortionist' policies.

Thank you for the information Luis, I will use it next time.
Always learning.
