well hemmerich
yea i did get carried away a bit there but its all the unpacking of those marklin boxes that can get expensive with the new stock arriving but thats the perks
i also picked up my fair share from exhibitions and one of early locos dad brought me back from germany a 3054 103 when he was there on business and then later on my son dion got into importing marklin because we found it hard to get here in nz along with alot of others
so he wrote our webpage and the rest is history and we have had great support for local guys like mike and david etc and found alot of friends along the way all over the world including you.
in 2000 we were in europe and after coming through from italy we came to stanserhorn and after that came down and arrived in lucerne by boat at 5.00pm that night and walked up the street and there was the marklin shop and we purchased a red swiss loco just like the one that had run alongside us as we drove up to the goddard tunnel that day, so thats a very special memory and loco which I had running in the window today on the store layout
regards
bryan

I have a Märklin dealer across town, TrainsnToys - about 30 minutes by car, Brisbane, sub-tropical Australia.
I buy most from him. He is a good dealer, very attentive, and sensible prices.
I can also source items from Hobbyco in Sydney if necessary.
Other dealers I can use for hard to get items, are Modellzentrum and Schmalenbach in Germany, or EuroRailHobbies in BC Canada.
I do get some second-hand stuff from eBay Germany, eBay UK, or Willi Walter in Germany.
regards
Kimball

I`m very lucky.
I have a Märklin Shop in Shop dealer between my home and my job, and one not far from our summer house.
A couple of times I have bought from ebay and I look up shops when I am travelling.
I don't know if this would work for me, especially on pay day
I'd spend my whole paychek on my way home
.
Like most here on site, I have a very good dealer within a 30 min. drive, and since over the past 3 years I have conservatively spent $15,000 dollars in his shop, he gives me some very nice deals
About the only thing that could add cream to this mix would be if there was a reputable repair shop in the vicinity. Which brings a question to mind... not to get off topic, but are there any non-European (other than New Berlin) areas that have the advantage of a local repair site, and if not... why

Hi James,
The dealer in Brisbane has a couple of expert Märklin users on hand, to do repairs and adjustments.
He is very careful about the results.

The non-Marklin items I get from my dad, who owns a model train shop about 20 miles away. He was a Marklin dealer until 2000, up till then I bought Marklin from him. I can now order again through Walthers but their prices on Marklin are very high.
Recently I've bought from Micro Macro Mundo and Modellbahn Ott here in the US, and liked them both. I've also bought from several US and European ebay sellers.

banco, I have made over a hundred ebay purchases, USA,Germany,Poland, South Africa, Canada, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom and only been burnt once! There are also 3 used Marklin sellers that have some stuff at swap meets. I buy mostly vintage. I have also made a few local purchases off craigslist. I have bought Ma stuff from Eastside Trains, Kirkland WA, Northend Trains, Seattle WA, Pacific Railway Hobbies, Tacoma WA and Micro Macro Mundo. All these dealers are great. Most of the retailers are in the hobby because they love it!!!

Hi Guys
I have two locations to purchase my marklin trains in which they are in new jersey. One location is in Englishtown new jersey which is EuroModelTrains open on Sat/Sun, and Cedar Grove New Jersey is Tony's Train open/weekly. Also, there is Time Machine Hobby located in Manchester, Connecticut two hours from my house. Thanks

Hi Obxbill,
I deal with primarily: Helmuts Hobbies in Va for all my marklin HO repairs. Scott, is the best for customer service support. I will rate him five stars.
