Hi, I'd like to use reed switches and universal relay's to run two trains on the same c track with and two signals, one siding and a train station . I'd like it to run by itself, automatically. Where can I find information on how to set this up?

On the <www.marklin.com> site one can download the Marklin Signal Manual. This is a very good introductory document on the use of signals, contact tracks, block control, relays, etc. Reed switches/lok magnets can be used in place of contact tracks. I'm not quite sure but be sure you use reed switches of a high enough rating for reliable, long term use with solenoid switching.

Viessmann makes reed switches. I have tried them (with c-track) and the seem to work ok.

My thoughts on reed switches:

You need to find the right height. too low, and you crunch at switches, too high and the magnet does not activate the sensor. I had to attach and remove magnets several times until I had a reliable result.
You need a magnet on every Lok or train. (Obvious reasons[:p])
Magnets do fall off. Especially if you do not use extra glue. The self stick magnets are good for testing. Use strong glue when you get the height right.
Big one: if you stop the magnet over the reed switch, the reed switch burns out! Be careful where you stop trains! You will eventually have a Lok stop in the wrong place and have to replace the reed switch, so do not place them in tunnels.
