<font face="Verdana]Today I dug up some old "Schürzenwagen" to run 'em behind my new BR24 "Steppenpferd". I don't usually run these coaches and it had been a while since I last had 'em in my hands. My eye fell on a curious stamp underneath the 346/1, a stamp which I had not noticed before:

It's not a sticker. Appears to be made of gold paint. When I run my finger across it, I can feel slight ridges where the paint is.

Anyone know what this stamp indicates? A dealer's stamp perhaps?

Cheers!
Oscar

<font face="Verdana]Something just occurred to me: "Antwerp" is the English name of "Antwerpen". Why would a retailer located in Antwerpen use the English name of the city and not the Flemish name? Strange.</font id="Verdana]

Nice old coach. Maybe a dealer, and maybe painted on by Märklin to his order.
By the way Oscar, do these old series, couple to the Relex couplers?

In 1982 the GIB group aquired this toy shop.
this article states that in the mid 1990, Christiaensen Toy shop either closed its doors or was resold, by the GIB group

I know that some shops apply a "supplied by" sticker to the boxes of models they sell mail order now, so I'm wondering if this was something similar?

I can just picture one of their junior employees with a stamp, marking the models so that customers will remember where they bought them from (and hopefully go back!)
