The new CS2 from Märklin did not have a long life as a new 60214 is mentioned in the Märklin Web News. Will we call this a CS3?

Is there any difference in hardware?
Article no. and RRP have changed, software also - but changed hardware?

For me this is still CS2.

Tom

It's not the first time, into other forums, some people are calling it CS3 already...(60214)
Some people also say : "multiprotocole CS2 "...

It seems 2-railers tend to call it "CS3"
3-railers tend to say " multiprotocole CS2"..

Until recently Marklin made almost no use of the term CS2.

Their preference has always been "Central Station" for generic or "Central Station 60213"

Whats wrong with 60213 ? For years we have been talking about 6021

The fact that there isn't one any more, and now we have a variant, 60214!

That's because there was ever only one of them. You refer to a 6021, every one knows what you mean (I've never heard any one call it by its real name - Control Unit). Talk about a Central Station, and there are now 3 possible devices you could be referring to!

Don't forget Central Station Reloaded ...
... so that makes four.

Hello,

you may call it as you prefer. This will not affect the functionality of the central station. I called mine Lizzy biggrin

The 60214 is a central station with complete multiprotocol support and colour screen.
The 60213 is a central station with MM and mfx protocol and colour screen.
The 60212 is a central station with MM and mfx protocol and B/W screen

The 60212 reloaded is an EcoS in a central station case.

I talked to Jeff at Marklin USA on Thursday, and he said the CS# is on the way. And That the next upgrade(1-2month time frame given)will update the CS2 to have CS3 capabilities. I hope I was hearing Jeff right.

and he did call it "CS3"

Now it's time for the waiting game...
Keep the axels greased and the tender full... We're rollin' now!
