Hello,

Does anyone here own the Marklin 42973 sudwind/restaurant car with pantograph?

I ask because I do and I wish to install interior lighting for it. Unfortunately Marklin does not offer an interior lighting part for this coach and I was wondering if one of their lighting kits could be modified to work in this coach.

I have the full sudwind set (42993, 42994, 42972, 42973) and I want to have interior lighting for them all.

Thanks!

I really feel Marklin should have included switchable lights (and the ability to power and control lights in other coaches via the couplings) on this model. If you look at the price of the coach, would a handful of LEDs, a circuit board and some extra wiring really have hurt their profits so much?

I have installed interior light in my 42973.

Split into two circuits, one for the restaurant (f4) and one for the citchen (f1). f1 also triggers a relay which sends light current (B) to the connected Südwind cars.

Reason for f1 to the cars and to the citchen: Interior light on = passengers onboard = citchen preparing food biggrinCool

If required, and can remove the car body and make some photos.

Ok so you didn't use a Marklin part number for your interior lights? Is yours a custom PCB/LED piece?
Would you be able to take a photo of it for me just so I can see how you set it up?

Thanks
