It is interestng to read peoples reply from my downloaded Train videos (youtube).
I had one today from a guy in Germany, saying my scenery reminded him of catching the train from and to highschool.
I've never expected personal experiences such as this.

It is almost creepy, to think, you've recreated another person's youth movements on the other hand it is touching, a layout scenery can bring back memories,
for instance smells can take you back to your childhood in a second.

I wonder whether or not building a layout has all these hallmarks of forgotten enjoyable child memory.

River san,
I looked at your video and noticed a couple of cement pipe cars
going by. I'd like to try and make something like that for z scale.
Do you have the model number so I can search for any higher res photos.
thanks,
-George

Hi John,
I am sure the childhood memories, or even experiences (reading books, movies etc) are part of it.
Certainly is for me.
I spent many hours in the local library when I was young, looking at train books, and reading them avidly. I now live a long way from that library, but for old times sake, I recently I set up a display there. In a secure glass case, I showed old Hornby O gauge, and also some modern Märklin HO stuff. The contrast was educational, and I got many enthusiastic comments.

regards
Kimball
