Hi all of my favorite friends in this fantastic community! Smile

I've finally (after 10 years of hesitation) started to weather the rolling stock. I've studied a lot of different metods that people seem to use and finally descided to go for a mix of dry brush acryllic chalks + Deluted Acryllic wetpainting dirt streaks + Extra heavy corrosion areas with Crysta-Clear as glue and dry chalks again.

I'm half way through with this wagon, which is ROCO track cleaner (it's a bit of a funny twist to make that one look worst first, right biggrin ).

So here it is: UserPostedImage

Thank you! Smile

It's soo nice to have friends who understands the beauty of corroded steel, coal, smog and dust. I guess the result will look better and better as more wagons gets painted.

I'll take a few more pictures covering the whole wagon, but for now only one side is ready. I'll publish more pictures when ready. I guess I switch the eggs for wagons this Easter wink

Superb work, Martin ! congratualatons ! We eagerly look forward to more of your results. And please, do not hesitate to give some descriptions on the procedures and materials that you used in the course of weathering. Not all have us have read all the stuff you went through before attacking your stock biggrin

Pretty grubby, Martin.
Good result, rust is actually quite difficult to replicate, because it clings to certain parts, and changes colour with age.
That guy looks like Lee Marvin, the actor. In fact when you come to think of it, all those Faller, Noch, Preiser guys look like Lee Marvin.

Apparently a nice weathering, but I would really like to see a picture of the whole wagon. Smile
