I am scheduled to be in Düsseldorf this coming week on business and I wonder if there are anz good modellrailway shops around.
I have visited in the past Metzel's but was Sunday so I only got to see the showroom from outside.
Has anybody suggestions to make in terms of customer service and pricing?

Hi Symeon,

Haven't been in Düsseldorf yet, but close about 20 min with a car or train you can see a great layout in Oberhausen : http://www.modellbahnwelt-oberhausen.de/

Close to the layout is also Sea-Life and Centro, www.centro.de Europe's biggest shopping centre. It has a nice Märklin shop wink

Hi Symeon

I have been in Düsseldorf last year and bought a lot of C tracks that were in sale at Lütgenau (http://www.luetgenau-duesseldorf.de/).
They have two shops, I went to the one at Graf-Adolf - Str 15. It is blue painted building. 2nd. floor is full of Märklin. The attendant doesn’t spoke English but my short German language was enough.

For what it's worth - there is a store in Hilden, called Kramm, which is only a few minutes outside Duessldorf and easily reached by train. I've dealt with them over the net and prices seem to be good.
Take it easy . . . . or any other way you can get it !!!!

I think that Youngagain's recommendation to visit Kramm is a good suggestion.

Going to Maerklin's website and selecting "Haendler" and then searching for 40217 gives no less than a dozen results
