Well they did say their 'special price' (for all 2009 new items) ended 16 March (although it's only just 16 March in Germany right now).

Just as well I got my order in to ETS then!

At last David you will have the BigBoy.
An outsider.
I'm looking for the owner of that horse. He's tall, blonde, he smokes a cigar, and he's a pig!

Hopefully I will get my 3rd Big Boy soon!
This year I must choose. All the Swedish news or another Big Boy. The choice is not easy, but it´s thumbs up for the BB. I´ll just decide my payment plan. I ordered it some weeks ago and choose monthly payment. Don´t tell my boyfriend about it, please.

I think the value on a Big Boy is better than the Swedish 2009 news.

Maybe I´ll go for the blue T44 when it arrives. Hopefully december as the last one did. It´s still my favorite after Big Boy.

The packaging seems similar to 37990/37991 (and propably 37992). The boxes eats up alot of space [:(].

My dealer sold a big boy today to a customer.
Not me because my layout is way to small for a big boy.

He has several in order. The loc sells still very good.

I have purchased from Gunter(fit991) on a number of occasions and have not had any problems with delivery or packaging.(I am aware of the warranty issue however, that's my risk)
Quite a few Loks & bits & pieces but no layout yet, hope I never grow up

When I began model railroading, I aquired a Rivorossi big Boy from an uncle who had passed on. It is not balanced, nor weighted well, and has poor traction. It is also 2 rail dc. I have no desire to have a Marklin BigBoy. I only like the european steam Locos.

Hi I am thinking of ordering one of these from Lokshop as my celebration of 150 years of Marklin ..

Some questions

Can someone who already has one (or previous model) tell me what they total weight (train in wooden box) is please?

I note the discussion on digital functions of smoke generators and number plates. Does this mean that the smoke generators work only if the number plate function is disconnected?? .. (or are they connected together so smoke is on when number plates is on)?

Cheers

My 37993 arrived today. I will weight it.

The number plate light is in parallel with the smoke generators i.e. both are ON or both are OFF.

There was an article in the local newspaper about Hamburg Wunderland . It aslo stated the comapny bought € 140,000.00 worth of stuff from Märklin to keep it going.
No wonder you poeple out there have to wait for so long.
But wiating for a 37993 is worth while

A friend of mine was hoping to order a BB from the Lokshop, he texted me to say they didn't have any (which is not to say you can't order). I'll be interested to see how you get on Chris.

<s>Help!!

I just picked up my BB from the mail. I put it on the rails. What happens? Nothing!
Usually when I set a MFX-locomotive on the tracks the MFX-symbol lights up and I´ll wait for a few minutes. But now, nothing!

I´ve tried to access it through the adress 06 with the CS but still nothing.

Everything else works. 37991 and 37990 works perfectly. But 37993 won´t do anything. I´ve tried moving it to make sure it gets power. I have a 6021, but the buttons 0 and 4 aren´t working so I can´t access it from there. Do I dare to test it with a light blue transformer from an old starter-set? Just to test it works. Or any other recommendations? Should the CS be updated? It´s 2.0.4.

Edit: Now the CS screen disappears for a few seconds when I add a loco and afterwards the mfx-symbol lights up (unfilled) and disappears.</s>

Problem solved! I hate the Swedish Post. Always throwing things. The problem was that the pick-up shoe was a little bit loose. Now it works! But it´s strange they changed the cab and front light to white LED´s. It looks a little bit strange with the other 2 BB´s...
All functions are the same as 37991 except smoke.

Just for the record .. Lokshop tell my me 37993 is on the way today.. Well.. last night my time (have received shipping advice)..

I got them to put one on hold for me last week so avoided to "out of stock" problem ... Interestingly it is being accompanied by a 44150 (showing my support for Marklin) .. I asked if I could order a second 44150 but Lokshop told me that they were out of stock (again) .. I wonder how many 44150 cars marklin has/will sell?

Will post once my parcel arrives

Cheers

Here it is!

37993, accompanied with 37991 and 37990.
On this pic you really see how strange it is, mixing white and warm-white LEDs...

But it´s still a Märklin Big Boy.

Thanks Ulf!

I did some testing today on my very small layout with the CS. I reprogrammed maximum speed, minimum speed, speaker volume and speed characteristics so it matches with 37991. From what I can see they both have the same speeds. It differs very little on a few speedsteps. It should be no problem driving a multiple Big Boy consist.

Because of the overhang I think you need at least R4 or R5 if you don´t want something bad happen to the Big Boys.

I´m going to show them to a friend and then I´ll probably put them into their packaging and store them till I have space for a bigger layout.

37993 cleared customs and arrived on the door step this morning (along with 44150 and new Kolls) .. It took about two weeks to get from Lokshop to Australian customs. Customs processing was delayed as I was away on holidays .. Once I submitted the paperwork it took about a week to process and get delivered to me..

All goods in great order .. very pleased and a great way to start the day

Cheers

I noticed tonight that 37993 has gone 'green' on the Marklin product database website. That means the 2nd batch is now in delivery. Hopefully Gautham and I will see our BB's soon.

It is back to yellow now.

Sad part is that when I ordered the loco the Eur to US$ conversion rate was around 1.30. Today it is 1.42 [:(]
In any case, I have not had any responses to my repeated requests to ETS about the delivery status.

Oh dear, not good Gautham. Fortunately for me, the NZ$ has gone up against the euro - now 0.45, it was 0.38.
