Has ne1 read any interesting books on MMR lately? I would be interested in layout building (track plans, benchwork, etc.), scenery building, analog to digital conversions, wring for digital layouts, etc.

Cheers,

Do I take it that no one has read any interesting books lately?

Cheers,

Sorry Ranjit, too busy playing with the trains to read about anything!

...but seriously, I get a lot of tips from MRR magazines. I read Railway Modeller and Continental Modeller. The latter is especially useful for European modelling, though from a British perspective! Unfortunately this means not much Marklin, though they do very good reviews of the new Marklin releases.

Hehehe... I figured that you may say that, Ray! Happy railroading with Marklin.

I've read a lot of MIBA-magazines lately (MIBA Spezial and MIBA Report). They've been covering train-composition, catenary, signals and general layout construction. Mostly, they are very good, but there are exceptions...

But I try to read more and more about the prototypes. Since I own a lot of "Umbau"-waggons I picked up "Eisenbahn-Kurier Special 82" on e-bay. It tells the story about these "Umbau"-waggons (both the ones from West and East Germany) and it made some really interesting reading!

If I am not mistaken, MIBA is all in German, right?
