I see that this has been released. Just curious if anyone has converted this to AC? If so, how hard is the conversion?

Mine is on it's way from Lokshop. I plan on converting it to AC but don't know yet when. However, as soon as I get it I will reporrt on my plans on how to do it.

Thanks Mario. I see in another thread that Lutz has already converted his. Lutz, can you tell us what needs to be done. Is it as simple as adding a slider and a decoder?

Lutz, I looked at the HAG forum. It looks like the 22148 comes with a circuit board with an eight pin socket...correct? Also, which slider did you use?

Why to destroy it,when you can handle with DCC at CS2...?
Why not driving DCC too...?

Goofy..not planning to destroy it. I am hoping to only have to add a pick up shoe and decoder for AC digital operation. Out of the box, it is two rail, analog.

You could simply purchase the HAG Model No.: 22 009-31 for around 370 Euro. This model is AC Digital ready no need to buy a DC locomotive, convert it to AC and add a decoder. You will end up paying about the same price.

Just a suggestion!

Thanks Lutz, seems like a pretty easy conversion.

Hi Lutz,

The HAG locomotive is more expensive than the TRIX Re 4/4 but I have found that the difference sometimes is not that prohibitive depending on what you are trying to do.
