Hi, I am in the process of installing a smoke generator in my 37056 (Wurttembergerin K ). I run digital (6021) and as such I thought the SEUTE 11 (16-22 V) would be appropriate, and I think corresponds to the Marklin 7226. However, one of my friends thinks the SEUTE 10 (10 - 16 V) is the one to use. (I think this one is for analoge usage) Does anyone have any experience from which SEUTE to use ? And which corresponds to the Marklin 7226 ? BR/Wurttemberg

Seuthe 10 will burnout very quickly if you use digital current, i.e., direct from the track. Digital voltage output is higher than analog, so Seuthe 11/Märklin 7226 are your best choices.

Hi! As a rule of thumb: if the smoke generator can be switched from the decoder, use the analog smoke generator. If it can't be switched (Delta or 6090 model) then use the digital version. 7226 is what the catalogue says - and this is Seuthe #10. It depends what kind of decoder you have in the locomotiv. Seuthe nr:11 is for digital, but only if you have older decoder. Seuthe nr:10 is for newer decoder with severals function. It depends that there is higher output of ampere in the decoder that controls seuthe smokestack.(one of the function)

There is more power feeder in the new decoder, than older decoder.

Seuthe nr:10 takes about 130 milliamperes in function, while Seuthe nr:11 takes about 70 milliamperes.

It's just that the old 6090 decoder has no function output. Therefore the smoke generator is connected to the track power and gets the full 22 volts - thus the need for a #11 with old decoders.
New decoders can switch the smoke generator. The smoke generator is between decoder and loco frame and gets only positive waves of the track power - and the 16 volts version is used. If both poles of the smoke generator were connected to the decoder, a #11 would have to be used.
130 mA are no problem for old decoders. |
