Running trough the closed auctions on eBay.de, I saw this one:

http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eB...26_osacat%3D0%26_fvi%3D1

It's in an excellent shape and the box is nice too, but can anybody explain why it is sold for over 300 EUR [:0]. All the other DA 800s is "only" selling for about 50-70 EUR, and Kolls says 150 EUR.

Thanks in advance,
Thor

I guess because somebody set it at max. € 300 and somebody else wanted it even more.
I've got the same BR 23.014 but then from about 1968. But I'm not going to sell!

Sometimes people just become emotionally attached to things. If you look at buyer's feedback, you will see he likes the particularly "mint" items in good condition.

Best,

Hi,

That really is an amazing price.

Mine is 1954, boxed, with manual and original wrapper, plastic body, spotless, with clear traction tyres and bought it for only $140!

Strange.

Whilst it is double or more the usual selling price for one in good condition and boxed it does have the "vortenkuppling" which was only made in 1956 so it was probably finishing off someones collection. I have a nice one with the plastic body and boxed from 1954 for which I paid UK £70 I don't know if that was a bargin but it was what I wanted.......

Thank you all for your replies!

I'm glad, that I was not the only one, who thought it was a extremely high price. I also got the DA 800 from 1954 in excellent condition and in its original box. Unfortunately I through the wrapping paper in the trashcan, because I didn't thought it was something original [:(]. It was four years from now and the beginning of my interest in Märklin, and it still annoys me[V].
