Problem: my IB Switch is fully programmed. All 40 fahrstrassen are full.

I've read that ist is possible to program fahrstyrassen at your intellibox itself.

One thing remains unclear: is it possible to set a fahrstrasse at my intellibox with the use of S88 contacts? Or is it only posible to switch the fahrstrassen by hand (pressing a button)???

Please help!

Evil, send Clapcott an email, he knows a bit about digital systems, and the IB.

Hi Evil,

It's possible, I've done it and I'm not an expert in digital matters ;o). The first thing you have to do is to define the route as if it were activated manually, behind a chosen button. Then, once that is done, you change the procedure and active the second program button (the one left of the route-program button, with the two turnouts). You press one of the 16 addresses of your S88 you wish that it handles the route, thereafter the button of the "Fahrstrasse" you previously defined, so that both addresses are now linked. From now on, each time a train activate the S88, it will proceed as if you had pressed the button yourself. And the nice thing is that you still have the possibility to activate the route yourself, separately.

I love IB and IB Switch.

Please note that you will have to have an IB with the "Fahrstrassen" software upgrade. My IB(s) do not have that and cannot do any routes...

I think this upgrade is still available from Uhlenbrock for a smaller amount of cash for older IB:s...

I believe that v1.55 of the IB software allows this.--MM

If you have an IB Switch, it's not necessary that the IB has the "Fahrstrassen" module inside.

By the way, the IB Switch has 2 times 20 routes of 20 steps each while the new version of IB with the "Fahrstrassen" module inside has 3 times 16 routes of 10 steps each. I use both and it's a delight ! I've 68 routes at my disposal, 880 steps (= electromagnetic elements)!

[:(!][:(!] So The IB can handle and activate Fahrstrassen? Too bad Uhlenbrock doesnt have a proper manual for this. It seems they want this to remain a secret. I spent ages on the internet trying to find "how", but i found nothing.

I solved the problem by buying a 2nd IB Switch SmileSmile

I'll keep it in mind in case the moment occurs when I have time, money and room enough to triple my layout.biggrinbiggrin

You are right, the latest manual is MANY years old. And it does not deal with the latest software upgrades. I guess that they have kind of abandoned the IB as of many years ago.--MM

Evil,

Send me your email address and I send you the manual from Uhlenbrok. It's clearly detailed. I send you also the manual of the IB Switch so you can handle your S-88. I think I have a manual in Dutch too.

By the way, should it not be interesting to have a central database with a copy of all available manuals ? A question for our webmaster.
