Question about the intellibox / IB Switch.

Both got an option to inckude a pause in a "Fahrstrasse" when programming. This pause can take from 50 ms to several seconds.

My question is: when the IB / IB Switch is in operation and has to deal with a pause, does it handle other "fahrstrassen" in the mean time or does it wait untill the specific pause is done?

In other words: does the IB system handles its oders serial or parallel?

Hello Evil R,

I own both IB and Switch. My experience is that there is - in regard to "fahrstrassen" - no parallel handling.

Ok. So that means whenever a pause is 'running' all other "fahrstrassen" are blocked?

That really is bad news.

Hi Evil_R,

the Manual says:

1.
Alle Schaltvorgänge werden nacheinander
abgearbeitet, so daß keine Belastungsspitzen der digitalen
Stromversorgung entstehen.
The steps are worked step by step avoiding peaks of the digital electric power supply

2.
Durch das Einfügen von Pausen kann zum Beispiel einem langsam
schaltendem Magnetantrieb die benötigte Zeit zur Verfügung
gestellt werden, ohne daß die allgemeine Schaltzeit verlängert wird.
By using a pause a slow switching machine is given the time to switch without having the generall cylce time delayed.

In my experience it is like that: a fahrtstrasse is worked through step by step, first switch one, signal two, switch three. If there's a pause inserted it is like switch one, pause, signal two, switch three.

So, now parallel working ...
