I've note the announcement of this as number 60512, the number indicating that it has something to do with the computer interface,
at http://www.modellbahnen-licht.de/

Just wanted to feed your imagination and guesses.

To me it appears that Märklin will stick to the I2C bus; othervise they shouldn't announce this now. It will in some sense replace the old switchboard I guess. What does C-track mean? Train recogition or at least, train occupation detection? The C-track turnouts have end shutoff contacts, but I can't see that this could make the 60512 useless with K or M. The new signals have an extra connection, which should be used somehow, well, perhaps it indicates that the stop section is occupied? And should be connected to the 60512? What do you think?

/Lars

Hi Lars, Märklin announces this product:
60512 Modellbahn-Software „Steuern und Schalten“.
Please see http://www.maerklin.de/produkte/ and search for 60512.

Thanks Jorge,
my mistake. I've even read about that and seen the number, and still didn't recognize this funny title "Gleisbildstellpult C". Perhaps C stands for computer?

Never mind, sorry for bothering.

It says:

"Comfortable biggrin model railroad software for controlling Marklin digital and Selectrix digital layouts. Software for manual and automatic control of trains, switch panel, manual and automatic control of solenoids (that's signals and turnouts to you and me wink), combination of manual and automatic control possible, block section and shadow station support, video image of engineer's cab (confused), control of crane, 3D sound, time table control, voice, clock. Languages: German, English, Dutch, French. (Then follows the list of hardware requirements). Connection to Marklin layout via Interface 6051 and Control Unit 6021. Connection to Trix layout via Interface and Central Control 2000."

Hope it helps!
Richard

I would be happy to read some comments! It sounds like a good program and I think that it is about time to computerize my layout!biggrin

I tried it, but I could not get it to talk to my IB.. (After I deleted the application, I realised that I should have set the IB's baud rate right down to 2400bps and tried again)

Anyway, this one's scratched for me...
