My old,Marklin, the only Marklin to run on the Aystralian Model Railway Association Club Layout at Zillmere Brisbane Queensland Australia, caused a near panic when I ran it recently. Trains on the same section started to run backwards,or forwards whichever way I had my loco directed,
It runs in the opposite direction to normal DC trains..Would this have been an error by the person who converted it from 3 to 2 rail,or do all Marklin Locos run that way ?
Took the body off easily and should I then reverse the main left and right connections to rectify my problem.
My club mates think so,but I had to ask this question as this is my only intro to Marklin Quality. The old loco pulls well with a string of wagons on typical steep grades at the club. Love the loco.

Yes, just switch the 2 connections and you are ready to go.

This has actually nothing to do with Marklin. It is just the basic functioning of a DC motor. If you inverse the voltage on a normal DC motor it will turn in the other direction. Your fellow club mates will confirm this.
